Mutya 2014 Winners, More Than The Crown


After a series of corporate visits and pre-pageant activities at Sheridan,Beach Resort & Spa in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan and in Palayan, Nueva Ecija, Mutya bets from Overseas Filipino Communities and homegrown aspirants flashed their finest and dazzling individualities in regional inspired gowns made by 30 local designers from different regions. The top 10 contenders sashayed their uniqueness in Renee Salud modernized Filipiniana gown creations. The spectacle of contenders magnified an awe-inspiring statement, glitz and glamour. Solaire Resort & Casino staged his spectacular night of body, beauty & brain battle royale.


The three most coveted titles went to Patrizia Bosco (Milan)Mutya ng Pilipinas – Overseas Communities (also awarded as Darling of the Press, Mutya ng Sheridan, Miss Lee Cooper Jeans & I Am Confidence award from Tupperware brand; Glennifer Perido (Cordilleras) – Mutya ng Pilipinas-Tourism International (also won Best in Long Gown, Mutya Rain or Shine, Miss Zen Institute & Miss Ivana Fragrance by Tupperware brand) and Eva Patalinjug (Cebu) – Mutya ng Pilipinas-Asia Pacific (also chosen as Best in Swimsuit, Mutya ng Sheridan, Mutya ng Pilipinas-Solaire & Viva Discovery.

The pageant provided the newly crowned beauty queens with an opportunity to share their advocacies for the country. Fil-Italian beauty, Bosco speaks English, Italian, Spanish, German, French and a little of Japanese. This belly dancing aficionado joined the pageant to make her family proud.
“Naturally to realize my dreams by promoting this beautiful country.”

The 19 year old model, stylist & fashion blogger was born in Italy but also considers Iloilo her second home. Perido is a registered nurse, she spent her growing up years amidst the Cordillera Mountains. This stunning commercial model speaks fluent Kalinga, Ilocano and Itawes dialects. The pride of Kalinga Province says,
“It has been my dream to be a beauty queen and I believe Mutya ng Pilipinas is a great venue for my advocacies in line with the pageant’s purpose that is Beauty Tourism.”

Patalinjug epitomizes “beauty and brains,” this Cebuana was a consistent honor student from elementary to college.
“This pageant will be my platform in pushing for my advocacies in life especially promoting tourism in our country despite all the calamities that happened.”
she remarks.

The 22 year-old HRM graduate from Olongapo City Cristine Cheeny Racel – 1st runner-up says,
“To all aspiring beauty queens out there, always remember that life is so beautiful and will be more if we will show the real beauty that we have, gain self-confidence and gain more positive and beautiful outcome.”

The 18 year old nursing and psychology student from Australia, Kim Fyfe – 2nd runner-up & Mutya ng Pilipinas-Biocera quips,
“Believe in yourself, be patient and follow your dreams because it is only you who can make your dreams a reality.”
