The local search for Mutya Pilipinas (formerly Mutya ng Pilipinas-Southern California) queens has been expanded to include the entire California, according to an officer of the franchise.
Venus Macias Marin, Mutya Pilipinas-California vice president, made the announcement during the presentation of the beauty pageant’s initial batch of contenders last week.
But first things first, Marin quickly pointed out that the “ng” in the organization’s name has been deleted.
It turned out that the beauty pageant’s incoming president, Cory Quirino, wanted such a change to happen “in keeping with the spirit of newness.”
